I am being questioned constantly by people about the future of OutdoorPAGES, the benefit of becoming a Member and the building of Team OutdoorPAGES.
With this correspondence I would like to address these issues in general. I see OutdoorPAGES as a virtual town in development. Every day we facilitate visitors to the town and since the 15th of December 2011, we started with people taking up permanent residence. As with all new developments, town space is limited, the community is small and the resources are low. With the vast amounts of passion and hunger at our disposal amongst our community members, we face a bright future with many possibilities of growth ahead of us, supported by the fact that our town is built on a solid and stable foundation.
In order to attract future residents to our town, we need to reward them with a benefit equal or exceeding the value they spend in cash becoming a member / resident. What rewards or benefits are prospective residents faced with at present? We offer them a FORUM that is so much more than a chat room. Our FORUM is inhabited by warm, friendly, kind and sharing people who will support them in times of need, lend a shoulder to lean on when the road gets tough and a vault filled to the brim with information covering a wide range of subjects that grows even bigger as we speak. The wealth of all this, added to the benefits of trade and intellectual property gathered over 13 years by thousands of members, visitors and guests, by far exceeds the expectations of the return value of investment by prospective members / residents. Considering what our town offers the rest of our website, including but not limited to benefits contained within our Partnership Programmes, giving you discounts in regards to resorts and shopping sprees in various towns country wide, which will expand with your help to result in even greater benefits to our residents / members, no other medium presents this much for FREE. OutdoorPAGES and its residents are proud to be actively involved and aspires to be involved in even greater measures with regards to conservation as well as the desperate plight of our elderly and foster kids alike. In addition to this, OutdoorPAGES contributes vastly towards communities, coverage of world championships, tackle reviews, travel and accommodation options, fishing seminars / workshops / clinics, dam profiles and so much more!
I TRULY BELIEVE THAT JUST TO BE USING THE FORUM IS MORE THAN A PRIVILEGE AND WORTH PAYING FOR...
What is therefore sad desponding to say the least, is to notice the amount of negative and worthless comments posted on our forums or notice boards if you will, by NON MEMEBERS to changes and other issues pertaining to the development of our town!!! Failure to realise that this is a process, not an event, mostly contribute to the comments made by these individuals and their failure to get involved in becoming part of the solution rather than the problem exacerbates the issue. What needs to be realised is that change is inevitable, but pain is optional! Get involved, roll up your sleeves and viewing the end product, you will be able to claim that you were part of the process creating a successful vibrant OutdoorPAGES one and all can be proud of! Being a babbling couch potato will bear no fruit at all, this much I can guarantee!
Changes to our town are hampered by factors such as financial and manpower constraints. By becoming a member, you actively contribute to our treasury department, enabling the town council to debate on and approve expenditure on prioritised ventures. As a member, you obtain a voice regarding opinions and ideas to take OutdoorPAGES forward. The prosperity of this town called OutdoorPAGES is directly linked to YOUR membership therein and YOUR voice in matters projecting the image thereof to the outside. It all starts with YOU, guest and / or visitor! Join and share your ideas with us. Make OutdoorPAGES your home away from home.
The moderators have been chosen by means of your input, thus, you have elected your representatives. Shortly, your elected officials will need to slot into positions to carry out the various tasks that looms ahead of us, ie; finance dept, roads dept, sanitation, human resource dept, waste removal etc. Thinking we will be able to achieve OutdoorPAGES goals individually simply will NOT deliver the end product that would benefit its members. Our motto should be not too different from our victorious 1995 Springbok team with a twist, ONE TEAM, ONE GOAL!!! It is the only option we have in achieving success. OutdoorPAGES is bigger than you and me, it is the home of each and every person hopefully soon members of it. My name might be on the dotted line, but I am merely a vessel with my team to support me in making it the home YOUwould like it to be. Be creative, have a voice, join OutdoorPAGES and have your end product in your own hands!
We can all look back at this letter with the usual negative retorts associated with the ideas and views expressed herein, but standing up and taking matters in your hands regarding the road we have to walk to success takes a committed and proud individual. Are you that individual?
