OutdoorPAGES in association with
Tugelamouth Resort will be presenting
a Rock and Surf Fishing Seminar at the Tugelamouth Resort on the
Kwazulu Natal North coast (± 96 km north of Durban) on the 29th to
the 31st of August 2008.
The seminar will cover all topics on Rock and Surf
fishing and 5 leading Rock and Surf anglers will be presenting.
Theoretical sessions will be followed by demonstrations on certain
topics like knot tying, casting, bait presentation, etc. The
cost will be R750-00 per person (Full Package - Chalet) or R650-00 per person (Full Package
- Camping) which
includes entry to the clinic and the competition, a goodie bag,
accommodation for the weekend (from Friday the 29th at 14:00 to Sunday
the 31st at 16:00), 2 x breakfast (Sat/Sun), Light Lunch (Sat), 1 x braai (BBQ) Saturday
evening and bait for the competition.
For those who do not need accommodation and meals (Day Visitors)
the cost will be R400-00 per person which includes entry to the
clinic (with light lunch) and the competition, a goodie bag and bait for the competition.
Should you wish to only attend the clinic
the cost will be R250-00 per person which includes entry to the
clinic, a goodie bag and a light lunch.
Accommodation (Chalets or Camping)
Chalets (R 750-00 per person)
Accommodation will be in the form of
self-catering chalets and houses at the resort which will be shared among
participants. Bring is your own bedding and towels.
Camping (R 650-00 per person )
Clean ablutions are available. All Caravan & Tent stands are
supplied with own water, powerpoint, light and braai.
Accommodation for Friday and Saturday night is included in the
Full Package. Special arrangements must be made with
Tugelamouth
Resort for those who wish to stay longer.
FAMILIES:
An affordable option for families would be to opt for the
self-catering camping option (caravan or tent site). Only pay R100
per person (up to 6 people) for the weekend (Fri at 14:00 to Sun at
16:00 - Self-catering). Family members wishing to take part in the
Seminar and Comp then go for Option 2 (R400-00 per participant).
All beds in the chalets are reserved for anglers taking part in the
Seminar and the Competition. Should you wish to bring your family
along and you want to stay in a chalet you unfortunately have to pay
the full price (R750-00) per family member (per bed). It does not
matter if they attend the seminar or not.
Meals

Friday: Self-catering.

Saturday (Day 1): Breakfast will be served
in the morning with a braai (BBQ) in the evening. Light snacks
will be served at lunch time.

Sunday (Day 2): Breakfast will be served
in the morning before the start of the competition.
2 x Breakfast and 1 x Dinner (Braai/BBQ) are included in the full
package only.
Drinks
Please bring your own drinks.
Notes
Most presentations will be held in Marque tents
(outside) and chairs will be provided. You are still welcome to
bring your own camping chair which will probably be more comfortable.
The weekend will provide
enough opportunity for anglers with pressing questions. The
presenters will be around all the time.
The nearest shops are ± 14 kilometres from
Tugelamouth Resort. The weekend is short so try to bring all you
need with you.
Program
Friday
Participants are welcome to arrive from as early as 14:00 on Friday
afternoon the 29th of August. Some of the presenters will be available on the
beach for those who would like to make the most of the weekend.
Saturday
Day 1: All the theoretical and practical sessions will be
presented on Saturday. The presentations will begin at 07:30 (just
after breakfast) and will continue until 17:00. See
Sessions further down.
Sunday
Day 2: OutdoorPAGES and Tugelamouth Resort will be presenting
a 7 hour fishing competition (06:00 - 13:00) where prizes worth more
than R 20 000 sponsored by OutdoorPAGES, Shimano, Double X lines,
Double Deadly, Tugelamouth Resort and more will be up for grabs. Win
combos consisting of a Shimano
Torium multiplier reels with Double X High Abbrasion High Vis
line on three-piece Shimano Exage graphite rods for catching the biggest edible
or biggest non-edible fish. Other prizes include DVD's, Tackle Bags,
Bait boxes and more.
If the winner is an OutdoorPAGES member (with membership card) we
will throw in an additional R 1000 cash to compliment the first prizes
for edible and non-edible fish.

Terminal Tackle (±2 hours)
Covering all aspects related to Leaders,
Traces, Rigs, etc
Choosing the right tackle, hooks, swivels, etc.
Different Rigs for different applications, for different species
Tie your own rigs with demonstrations
Session 3
Bait and Bait Presentation (±2 hours)
Choose the right bait for the right time of
year, the right species and the right conditions
Demonstrations on the most popular bait presentations
Session 4
Casting & Casting Techniques (±2
hours)
This session will be a pratcical session on
the beach where participants can take part (own tackle). The
focus of this session will be to assist anglers with their casting
skills. The session will start off with a demonstration on casting
with different outfits (light, medium, heavy), different reels,
bait presentations and rigs combinations.
While on the beach we will show you how to swim a live bait, from
casting to getting your bait into deeper water.
Competition: For added fun we will see who can cast the
furthest. The winner will win a week's accommodation at
Tugela Mouth Resort for four people.
Competition on Day 2
On day 2 we will have a 7 hour fishing session (06:00 to 13:00) where
anglers can put their newly acquired knowledge and skills to the test.
All the presenters will be on hand to assist anglers. This includes
helping with casting, bait presentation and other problems that
anglers might be experiencing or need help with.
RULES
You can only take part in the competition if you
attended the seminar. No entries will be allowed for the competition
only.
Live bait can be arranged. Fishing with lures will be allowed.
2 rods maximum per angler.
Fish only in the designated area. You will be disqualified if you
fish outside the designated area.
